When Spaniards are asked about the economic situation in the country, only 5.4% consider it to be good. And, as a remarkable fact, nobody considers it very good. However, despite this perception of the Spanish themselves about themselves, it seems that by 2040 the average life expectancy of the country will increase.

According to the new report on life expectancy of IHME (Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, University of Washington) Spain will surpass Japan, yes, Japan (the country of Ikigai, of the "recipe of longevity") in life expectancy over the year 2040.

This means that the world ranking number 1 will be positioned with an average life expectancy of 85.8 years.

GOOD NEWS FOR THE PENINSULA AND FOR EUROPE

Of the top ten countries in the ranking, six are European. Another of the great readings of the study concerns Portugal, which is positioned as the country that will grow the most in the world top 20, adding from here to 2040 3.6 years to your average life (and rising from the 23rd - last published study of life expectancy in 2016 - to the fifth in the world ranking).

The rest of the list of European "winners" is completed by Switzerland (with an average of 85.2 years), France (with an average of 84.3 years), Italy, which climbs a position (from seventh to sixth, with 84.5 years on average) and the United Kingdom also climbs positions in the ranking with an average life of 83.3.

THE BAD NEWS

Palestine is the country that most affects its life expectancy in this forecast (falling from 114th place from 2016 to 152 that is expected by 2040). The rest of the countries that have shown a more striking fall than the rest are:

U.S, which would plummet from position 43 to 64, with an average life of 79.8 years.

Canada from position 17 to 27

Norway, from 12 to 20

Taiwan from 35 to 42

Belgium, from 21 to 28

Netherlands from 15 to 21

THE CONCLUSIONS OF THE STUDY

The prognosis for 2040 is that life expectancy is increased by an average of 4.4 years in the case of men and 4.4 in the case of women.

At the same time, the Central African Republic, Lesotho, Somalia and Zimbabwe, show an average of 65 years of life expectancy.

As a final icing, the study reads: "It is expected that most of the health factors will improve by 2040 but 36 of them will get worse. It is possible that some of them will be corrected by 2040 although, in the case of factors As the body mass index, the fee will increase if you don't intervene to avoid it".
